A Niger Delta where women can thrive.
To see more women equipped with opportunities, confidence, networks and meaningful roles in the decisions that affect their lives and communities.
NIDWEI creates room for women to connect, grow, lead and participate meaningfully in the development of the Niger Delta.
The Niger Delta Women Development and Empowerment Initiative (NIDWEI) is an organisation committed to strengthening women's opportunities, representation and contributions to society.
Our work is designed to connect women across communities and professional backgrounds. We recognise the importance of locally grounded solutions, shared learning and practical skills that create lasting opportunities.
We operate through an intended regional network spanning the nine Niger Delta states, while building relationships with communities, institutions and development partners.
To see more women equipped with opportunities, confidence, networks and meaningful roles in the decisions that affect their lives and communities.
To advance practical empowerment, civic education, leadership, cooperation and community development throughout the region.
NIDWEI's registered objectives include vocational, entrepreneurial, financial and digital skills; better access to finance and markets; protection of women's rights; greater participation in public affairs; stronger networks; peacebuilding, environmental protection and community development.
These objectives guide the programmes we plan, the partners we engage and the opportunities we seek to create.
