Your information matters.
A plain-language explanation of how membership and contact details shared through this website are used.
Information we collect
When you choose to register, we ask for your name, mobile or WhatsApp number, state, local government area and ward. You may also provide your email, occupation, community, state of origin, type of participation and areas of interest. When you contact us, we collect the contact information and message you choose to send.
How we use information
We use registration information to administer NIDWEI membership or participation, organise contact by area and respond to enquiries. If you separately opt in to activity updates, we may contact you about relevant programmes or announcements. We do not sell membership details.
Provisional ID cards and chapter collection
After registration, a provisional document may display your full name, registration number, state of residence, local chapter, category, and a verification code. You can print or save it. Only people with access to your unique card link can view those details; please keep that link private. State and chapter officers who are authorised to issue cards need to check the provisional document and verify your registration before marking a permanent ID as issued. We use the state and LGA you provide to determine your collection network. Confirmed collection-centre addresses may appear on the provisional document.
Who has access
Access is intended for authorised Secretariat administrators and designated coordinators who need information for membership and programme administration. Information is not displayed publicly on the website.
Public leadership profiles and portraits
Approved names, positions, photographs and short biographies for founding members, leadership and featured members may appear publicly on the website only after confirmation and permission. Unapproved entries are represented by generic portrait placeholders. If you appear in the public leadership directory and wish to request a correction or removal, contact the Secretariat.
Storage and security
Submitted records are held in restricted server-side storage, separate from the public website directory, with administrator access controlled by a password. As with any online system, no method of storage is completely risk-free. The Secretariat should maintain secure hosting, HTTPS, strong credentials and backups.
Your choices
You may request a correction, removal from future updates, or deletion of your registration details by contacting NIDWEI through the contact page or by telephone. We retain information only while reasonably needed for the purposes described above or other applicable obligations.
